48th Parallel to distribute Hopwater in Ohio

DBR Staff Writer Published 08 May 2015

The Cincinnati-based craft brewery 48th Parallel will soon distribute its line of hop-flavored, carbonated, low-calorie beverage sodas called Hopwater in Ohio, US.

Claimed to be caffeine and alcohol free, Hopwater is produced with 100% natural ingredients that includes cane sugar and Zeus hops.

It is a cocktail mixer with 48 calories and 48 IBUs, said the brewery.

Cincinnati-based Cavalier Distributing has sealed a deal to distribute the 48th Parallel's Hopwater in the region. Established in 1992, Cavalier Distributing operates in Ohio, Indiana, and Florida.

48th Parallel CEO Brandon Dawson said: "Who better to partner with on a hop-flavored soda than the best craft beer distributor in Ohio? Cavalier is the perfect fit for Hopwater.

"They know hops, they get who we are, and they're excited about the brand. We couldn't be happier to be working with Cavalier, and we anticipate great things to come from our partnership."

Hopwater is different from soda, beer, or mixer. The new category of hopped beverages offers an alternative for the people who do not like alcohol or do not want to consume excessive sugar and calories. It is produced for people who love tonic water, but at the same time shy away from Quinine.

Cavalier will distribute all current Hopwater flavors including Original, Ginger, Lime, and Grapefruit.
