Anton Paar introduces Carbo 520 Optical sensor for beverage production

Anton Paar, a producer of high-end measuring and laboratory instruments, has introduced a new process sensor Carbo 520 Optical for the measurement of CO2 concentration in beverage production.

Carbo 520 Optical incorporates Attenuated Total Reflection approach and is entirely maintenance-free, hygienic, robust, and can easily be installed directly inline, claims the company.

The sensor measures specific wavelengths of light absorbed by CO2 molecules only, and the measurement is not affected by other gases in the beverage sample, SelectScience reported.

The results generated by the sensor are independent of the measured beverages' solubility and sugar composition, Anton Paar said.

Available in different versions, Carbo 520 Optical can also be integrated with an mPDS 5 evaluation unit, an operating terminal or a remote operating terminal that is placed around 250 meters away from the sensor.

The high measurement speed and energy efficiency of the sensor is anticipated to lower the operating costs and ensure smooth production.
