DBR Staff Writer Published 29 January 2014

Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages Company (ACCBC), which operates in the MENA region, has signed an agreement with a Lebanese distribution and bottling organization Transmed to acquire a majority stake in National Beverage Company (NBC).

NBC is a manufacturer and distributor of Coca-Cola and Pampa products in Lebanon.

The sale transaction is expected to be completed within the first half of 2014.

ACCBC CEO Nicolaas Nusmeier said that this partnership reflects the company's commitment to invest in beverages for long term growth, and the company looks forward to developing and growing this business over time.

"We will work closely with the local team over the coming months as we embark on what we believe will be a highly successful partnership for the employees, consumers and suppliers of NBC," added Nusmeier.

Aujan currently operates two manufacturing facilities in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, UAE. It manufactures brands including Refreshments products and non-alcoholic malt beverage Barbican.

The company is a licensed manufacturer of Vimto in the Middle East.
