Coca Cola Amatil to invest in Indonesia for expansion
Australian soft drinks bottler Coca Cola Amatil plans to invest around A$300m ($321.69m) in Indonesia over the next two years to step up production, expand distribution and increase the amount of coolant.
Coca Cola Indonesia marketing manager Amelia Nasution said Coca Cola Amatil plans to invest A$100m a year from 2011 to 2013.
Coca Cola Indonesia has eight factories that produce soft drinks including Coca Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Powerade, Frestea and Minute Maid.
Recently, Coca Cola Amatil has started a new $15m beverage bottle production line at the company's Woolston plant in Christchurch, New Zealand. The facility produces 16,000 PET plastic beverage bottles per hour using blow-fill technology.
Coca-Cola Bottling Indonesia is a joint venture company between local companies, owned by independent businessmen, and Coca-Cola Amatil.
Coca-Cola Amatil made its first investments in Indonesia in 1992. The company distributes Coca-Cola products to over 400,000 outlets through more than 120 sales centers.
