DBR Staff Writer Published 02 August 2016

Coca-Cola European Partners have completed the acquisition of Icelandic Coca-Cola bottler, Vifilfell.

CCEP was created following the merger of Coca-Cola Enterprises, Coca-Cola Iberian Partners and Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke at the end of May 2016.

Although we are European business, we invest, manufacture and distribute locally and we’re excited to welcome the 210 employees from the Reykjavik headquarters and two other production sites to our workforce.

Founded in 1942, Vifilfell is a leader in both the sparkling soft drinks and beer categories.  The business services over 2,300 customer outlets in Iceland with a portfolio of popular brands, including Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Trópí, Toppur, Powerade, Hámark – the leading protein drinks brand and the beer brands Víking and Thule.

In fact, our business in Iceland boasts the highest per capita consumption in CCEP with 365 beverages sold per inhabitant, per year. With the addition of Vifilfell, our business is now made up of 13 countries and nine official languages.

Coca-Cola European Partners has the flexibility, scale and innovation to drive growth in all of our territories and we are delighted to have Iceland on board.
