Coca-Cola's Gold Peak to introduce ready-to-drink tea lattes and cold brew coffees in 2017

Coca-Cola's Gold Peak brand is set to introduce ready-to-drink (RTD) tea lattes and coffees in the first quarter of next year.

Gold Peak is well known for its bottled iced tea and with the latest announcement, the company will be entering into RTD and coffee segments.

RTD coffees experienced better growth in the past five years, but the RTD tea latte segment is still considered an emerging beverage category.

In order to make the strategy fruitful, Gold Peak will partner with Illy, another subsidiary of Coca-Cola, which specialises in Espresso.

The companies will be part of a multi-brand strategy which will offers customers with a range of tasteful options and propel the company to a better position in the beverage category, Gold Peak noted.

The company also said that its new line up of RTD tea and coffee will feature real milk and sugar in a range of flavours.

Coca-Cola tea & coffee vice president Geoff Henry said: “Gold Peak has a passionate following of fans who love the ‘taste that brings you home'.

“We are excited to introduce new ways for people to enjoy the brand. Our new tea lattes and cold brew iced coffees will feature our signature high quality ingredients and distinct taste for a delicious pick-me-up anytime of the day.”

Coca-Cola claims that Gold Peak has been one of the fastest growing companies in its portfolio, which crossed the $1bn annual sales mark in 2014.
