PepsiCo to commence limited rollout of Pepsi True in US

DBR Staff Writer Published 27 January 2015

Global drinks major PepsiCo is planning to launch stevia-sweetened Pepsi True in stores across Denver, Minneapolis and Washington, in the US.

PepsiCo plans to commence the limited rollout of Pepsi True this week.

This comes after the launch of stevia-sweetened drink on Amazon earlier in October 2014, The Wall Street Journal reported.

As reported by the publication, Pepsi True offers 40% fewer calories when compared to regular Pepsi.

Besides 7.5oz cans being sold online, Pepsi True will be available in 10oz cans and 12oz glass bottles across the three cities.

PepsiCo spokeswoman Andrea Foote was quoted by The Wall Street Journal as saying that there are no immediate plans to distribute Pepsi True across the country as the company intends to first analyse consumer reaction.

Coca-Cola has also launched stevia-sweetened Coca-Cola Life in a few US stores last August before expanding it nationally last November.
