Robeks Smoothie to expand presence to non-traditional retail locations

Robeks Smoothie, a US-based premium smoothie and juice franchise, is planning to expand its footprint to non-traditional retail locations.

The proposed new locations include yoga studio and multi-franchise concepts, the company claims.

Meanwhile, Robeks Smoothie has partnered with a multi-unit Subway franchisee to add Robeks as a second brand within 11 stores in Manhattan.

Robeks Smoothie chief development officer Mike Reynolds said that smoothie and juice bars are great for a lot of reasons, and one is how well they work in a non-traditional footprint.

"You don't need a ton of space for a smoothie business -- since you don't need ovens or fryers, the kitchen setup is simple, just blenders and juicers. Plus, you don't have to have 1,000 different things in inventory, which reduces storage needs as well as expenses. Yet demand is really, really high," added Reynolds.

In addition, Robeks has witnessed a growth in year-over-year same-store sales for 22 consecutive months.
