Smoothie King to open 48 stores in US, Korea
Smoothie King Franchises has signed 48 new franchise agreements, of which 22 will be developed in the US and 26 in Korea.
The smoothie and nutritional lifestyle center said that it is on track to open 17 US, 33 Korean locations and its first store in Singapore by the end of 2012.
Smoothie King Global CEO Wan Kim said: "We intend to add 1,000 new franchised and corporate locations domestically over the next five years, with the goal of opening 40 franchise and 20 corporate locations in 2013."
Global development includes master franchise and corporate expansion in Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, with 50 new stores planned in Korea and 10 in Singapore in 2013.
Smoothie King offers fresh-blended smoothie and retail products, including sports beverages, vitamin supplements, herbs, minerals and other sports nutrition products.
The company currently has more than 600 units operating in 32 states, the Caymans and the Republic of Korea.
